Filter games by platform and stick to the one x enhanced titles for something close to a current gen experience. If you can use an external ssd to install games. An even better option would be to swap the internal hdd for an ssd
Get a USB SSD to run the games off of. Running games off the internal HDD is painful.
Otherwise, One X is a great box.
Try Game Pass and everything on it, but I would recommend Series X. One X is a good console but it’s really old now.
Tip: If you have game pass ultimate you can use cloud to stream Xbox Series games on your console!

I still have an original Xbox one that still seems to be working mainly just use it for anything that’s not gaming

You’re blocking the vents….
First lay it flat 1 for better airflow and 2 because u don’t have the vertical stand which actually has gaps that allow for a bit of airflow

It’s a great console! Mine has been very reliable and I still use it for games that aren’t Series Enhanced or BC Titles.

Tips from another One X owner: repaste the cpu as soon as you can! Especially if it’s an early model, then you can bet your ass the paste has turned to stone and cracked (be careful with the pads cooling VRM and ram).
While you are in there replace the HDD with and SSD, makes a HUGE difference and transforms the One X. Seriously, it’s the best you can do for it and it helps immensely with download speeds, loading time, asset streaming in games etc. literally no downsides.
Still a good console i think if you get them for reasonable money. Even though I have a series X I still regret getting rid of mine.
Lucky for you, Xbox One at least has some nice exclusives, as opposed to Series consoles.
The best for me was Quantum Break. Also try ReCore and Ryse.
