gaming is becoming unaffordable. Okay so you might take this as a complaint or as consumer feedback…
however, why is gaming becoming a luxury for even people living in 1st world countries😕
I remember when PlayStation Plus used to be $60/year and it wasn't that bad… it was just affordable. And I get that it's because of all the inflation and all… but still, the prices of PlayStation Plus now seem heavily inflated.
PlayStation Plus prices in the US:
Essential: $79.99
Extra: $134.99
Premium: $179.99
I mean gaming has transformed into something that requires an online connection in order to fully enjoy a game. And I think because of that, Sony is completely taking wrongful advantage by skyrocketing their PlayStation Plus prices. Which is why gaming is becoming unaffordable for some parents, even in first world countries such as the U.S.
Again, you might not agree because you aren't the one affected by it. I guess this is just something I felt I had to post.

Gaming is an expensive hobby. Always has been and always will be. You’re just noticing it more now because you weren’t paying for it yourself as a kid.

If I was a parent, I would rather get my kid the $135 Extra subscription and they’ll have a library of different games spanning different genres to try out for a year than drop $70 on a game. If I was to spend $70, he or she will probably just get a game for their birthday and another for Christmas.

My problem is cloud saves being paid which is ridiculous and the premium tier is mid unless you have amazing internet. I am not a fan of streaming. I understand that Sony don’t want to put in the effort to make ps3 games backwards compatible but they should’ve at least expanded PS1 & 2 game library.
That’s why I only play online games on PC. Fuck subscriptions. Haven’t been a PS+ member for over 2 years now.
Yes, I think essential is overpriced.
Extra works out to 37 cents a day and premium is less than 50 cents a day.. I think i can handle that
The library is a great place to rent games from.
Otherwise, focusing on single player games is the best value you can get these days.
