Convince me why I shouldn’t sell this and buy a flip console! I think they are cuter and fit in pockets nicely. Or maybe I will own both for the hell of it.

    1. Only thing that could MAYBE make it superior is if your hands fit the slab better? Other than that…

Wayyy more durable long term. Throw a silicone bumper case on it and screen protectors and it’s virtually indestructible. I had a 3ds xl break on me just from normal opening and closing and it was impossible to repair. I’d hold onto your 2ds. The older I get, the less I care about the 3d aspect. It’s nice for some games but also affects performance even on my N3DS XL. Plus the screens being smaller actually makes the images appear sharper.

    3. Comfort, and in my opinion the color selection is better. I love my sea foam green 2ds!

If anything ever happens to my N3DS XL I’m
Gonna buy a 2ds Slab. I just bought one for my kiddo actually for his birthday.

Best on adult hands, and it works well like a home console. I don’t take it out with me, but it’s great to have for easy access between meetings at home

Big hands man… Being a bit of a tall guy with large hands when I play on the 2ds I find it more comfortable

I loved everything about the slab except the speaker. If the speaker was great then it would be my main

Price and repairability / serviceability are the two major ones for me.

I have also found it the most comfortable to hold after the original 3DS XL as I have large hands.

It’s cheaper lol, if you look at the prices of 3DS compared to 2DS and DS prices, there is a VAST like around 100-200 price difference. Very lucky if you can find a cheap around 150 dollar deal for a 3DS. Also the 2DS, you don’t have to worry about hinges breaking.

    10. 2DS has overall better comfort/fit in hand and a better balance as a piece. It’s durable, with a meaningful texture/finish and, because it’s not a hinged system, less prone to breaking (i.e. less exterior moving parts). And while the screen is constantly exposed, many have found that even the 3DS screen, over time, can get damaged by bottom screen buttons.

I *love* my 2DS — it’s my first and only handheld. So glad I got it shortly before the eshop closed (and then immediately bought *way* too many games on that same eshop).

    11. It might be cope but I swear playing Smash on a 2DS OG felt better compared to any other 3DS model. Sure you are missing the circle pad, but the ergonomics feel great. I personally loved playing Smash on my old red 2DS.

From what I remember, it actually felt nicer in the hands and easier to grip the shoulder buttons
