I suppose i've been putting this off for *way* too long, but…
Back in pre-or around 2008(?) my M&L 3DS XL ended up getting knocked to the floor accidentally
At the time my parents were doing some home renovations and the carpets were pulled out (thought it was secure on my bed, but apparently not…) – and pretty much ended up like this
I know i should have gotten a repair setup and when these were still available on Nintendo since they don't do repair on these anymore, but… just didn't – i suppose i was worried about money considering i didn't have much of my own at the time (though a couple years ago my mom said they would have taken care of it, but…)
Still charges, but no idea beyond that – and considering i did a system transfer from my old 3DS to this after i got the XL… all my important saves and special Miis or on there so one could understand my concern about losing them
Is there someone or a trustworthy place where it could be repaired at? I've seen people repair this kind of damage or worse, but i don't think i personally have the confidence, technical know-how or skill to do so… part of me thinks i'd make it worse than it already is
Hopefully something like this isn't a lost cause or waste of time trying….
I live in the Champaign, Illinois (U.S.) area now (which hopefully is fine to say since i'm not being too specific on my location) so i don't know if that info would be help or not
Though i suppose the other problem is if i can get my account login transferred back to my XL since i did a support for getting my login set to my original 3DS…
___
On a similar 3DS note, just today i noticed my original 3DS battery was swollen and… quite a mess inside
I swore it looked fine a few days ago… and i was about to charge it, too
Was able to have someone unscrew the back so i could take out the battery
It shouldn't be an issue to clean up the inside and replace the battery, should it? Not sure if i'd need to replace the back panel too or even where to get one either unless someone has a recommendation to get one?
Not… that i'm sure how to clean it up properly or safely or dispose of the battery properly either….

I just posted a couple pictures on Instagram about fixing exactly this kind of issue! That’s some funny timing. I’m @PinksTechLife on Instagram. I’d love to help you out if you’re in need of a repairman
Damn that sucks! It is definitely repairable, needs a new top screen and you’ll need to swap out some of the shell pieces too, but your M&L piece should still be fine! Your OG console might just need a new battery.
