Trying using flashlight on the card reader and verify if the gold pins are intact if they are bent you might need to replace the card reader send the picture to a subreedit that may help you save it if it’s not that bad

Try this i don’t if it helps but you got nothing to lose turn your 3ds off remove the battery leave it for half an hour or 15 min put it back in and try again this systems are old and the good old remove battery tricks works wonder try it may help.
