I currently own the OLD 3DS XL, which I bought in January 2025 at a very good price, but if I suddenly get the feeling to buy the a NEW 3DS

The only reason is to use Joystick C to play Monster Hunter and because it's more powerful

But it didn't emulate either, and I don't like the 3DS screen because it's uncomfortable to play on outdoors. I prefer using my Miyoo Mini Plus. Is it worth it, or should I stick with what I have?

If there’s any games that only the new 3ds supports that you want.. sure, lol maybe you just want a new project tho

    2. Maybe look into getting the circle pad pro for the XL and save the funds you’d use for a New model?

Otherwise, if you can find a good deal and use the New model for other stuff that your current XL can’t do (improved 3D experience, better performance, C-nub, etc.),, then it might be worth getting.

Personally, I’d just stick with what I have.

    3. i mean the new model is a straight upgrade, can run more games, includes an extra little stick, etc.

If you want more power, better 3d effect (it tracks your eyes), and more gamr compatibility (Minecraft, monster hunter, etc.) then go with the new 3ds xl. If your into uomebrew, I would recommend the new 3ds xl, but if your playing basic games that don’t need 2 sticks, keep it, but i would still consider because then the new 3ds xl has faster load times. I used to have a og 3ds xl, I upgraded, best decision ever, except for the fact that you have to unscrew the backplate to get to the sd card

The only benefit is slightly faster load times, and the IPS screens. But you have to pay extra for a New 3DS with those nicer screens

If you have the funds I recommend, a new 3ds xl is debatably the definitive 3ds version; I also don’t like how the og 3ds xl feels but it’s not a deal breaker
