    1. Had to slightly tweak the title from the article source by one word as “drop” was being flagged as a support query!

    2. All right guys. Let me get some unprofessional layman’s reviews. Give me your worst best review. I’m talking like grammatical errors and complaining about things that aren’t actually problems. I’ll get it started.

I havt pl8d it yet. Should I even bather?!

Word-of-mouth is very strong with this game, especially for an unexpected hit like this. It’s currently sitting at 90 on Metacritic and seems to be convincing some otherwise hesitant Switch 1 owners to upgrade.

Curious to see the attach rate

This would be a 10/10 game if they just fixed the inventory, increased ditto’s reach by like one block horizontally, fixed the water physics, and added a snow and forest biome.

The electricity system kinda sucks too but I heard that there’s some late unlockables that’ll fix that

It really is a great game though, it has a ton of heart put into it and you can tell the team that worked on it really loves Pokemon.

    5. Pokopia sold over 2 millions in its first four days. If that is true, then it sold over 6 million at this point?

    6. So this is just Japan market correct? They sold 1 mil in 4 days and if sale only dropped 2% in week 3 then I could see globally they are probably somewhere around 8mil total.

Guess Nintendo better re ramp that production back up.

    7. There’s so much free viral marketing with everyone sharing their creations around social media.

Cubone effect, best selling pokemon games are when they’re in the base game and not as DLC

Shoot even Gamefly is being slow on sending it.

9 times out of 10 if I miss the gamelock for a game.. they’ll end up sending it eventually within the next week or two. I think Ghost of Yotei was the longest at 2 weeks.

I’ve been waiting since release and still no luck on them sending me a copy Lol.

P.S. “I didn’t know Gamefly was still around?!” Yes I know.. i get this comment 100% of the time whenever I mention Gamefly lmao.

Honestly? The more I hear about the game, the more I’m wanting to get it, and the type of game usually doesn’t do anything for me at all.

    11. Very curious to see the combined sales of Pokopia, Pokémon Champions, and Tomodachi life. They will be printing money. And new Mario and Zelda Xenoblade F.E. Etc aren’t even out.

    12. I don’t love battling in Pokemon aside from casual play (beating gym leaders and playing the story. Not a fan of the battle tower or vgc or stuff like that. I win with my favorites – beat Sun, UltraSun, and PLA with a Rowlet (not Decidueye) because I love Rowlet.

I’m really glad that not only does Pokopia not have regular Pokemon battle mechanics, but it also doesn’t have random wild Pokemon or other enemies or even hazards to worry about. I do play other games that are tangentially similar like other cozy games or minecraft but my main issue with many of them is that there’s consequences if you physically suck at the game. You could get attacked by enemies or fall in lava and lose all your stuff. Pokopia has none of that and I’m really glad for it. I mean yeah I have fallen in lava and drowned and fell out of the world but I didn’t lose any items or even progress since I was plopped right back down where I fell from.

I like PVE, co-op, strategy (turn based not real time), puzzle, and life sim/creative sim games. And stuff with a good story. I don’t love high pace action or challenging platformers and would only attempt those games if they had a really great story or tied into a personal interest. I’m just glad Pokopia is really for me. They didn’t make it *difficult* to play but they still made it very engaging with a good story for this genre of game and really expansive for completionists, without making you feel like you need to 100% it since the story only requires 4 areas at level 5, and you’ll probably have maybe 40% of the dex completed if playing casually.

I have tons of friends who mentioned they want the Switch2 now because of Pokopia specifically. I don’t see it slowing down on social media either, since it’s got so much potential for creative builds, and people are still making new discoveries. I definitely think it’s got huge potential to keep people coming in. It could easily hook (for example) the creative minecraft crowd who likes Pokemon too. (I also personally feel like Pokopia controls are easier to terraform anf build with than console/controller minecraft.) Obviously I think it grabbed a ton of cozy game fans.

I hope they keep this game going for a really long time with events and dlc, but hopefully nothing truly limited time. Not a fan of fomo but I’m glad you can technically just time travel back to the hoppip event if you really felt the need to.

I’m not super into Pokémon except Pokémon Go. I can’t wait to get this next week!

Im recommending it when I’ve barely put 15 hours into myself yet. I just know it’s going to be a game I bounce into when the mood hits for the very long foreseeable future

    15. Reminder that the “physical” version have been out of stock in some areas, this game will most likely keep selling
