This has been happening for awhile and I havn't found a real solution to it yet. Every time after sleeping the steam client breaks. The boxes are actually still functional but they are stuck as a black box. Right clicking on Steam in the hidden icons bar breaks as well and the menu doesn't pop up. Restarting Steam fixes it but its getting annoying.
