PS3 launched at $600, not $500. So, with inflation, it would be around $966 today.
Edit: I guess there was actually two models. Never realized there was a smaller one that launched at $500. I don’t even remember seeing them lol.

The launch PS3 was touted as the do everything system. Sony didn’t find it feasible to keep going and quickly launched another model with much less physical features.
