So it seems I can either replace only the rubber part itself, or this whole block looking thing (image) all together. Just so I dont end up having to do this whole thing all over again, I kind of wanna be sure and just go with replacing the whole things, but the only tutorials that exist are about only replacing the rubber part.
So really my question is how or if I can replace this block thing, and if its even worth it or if I should just replace the rubber part
Some context for my situation:
- I spilled a little bit of juice over my 2dsxl a while ago, everythings else is fine but the circle pad has got a "stuttery" feel to it now
- Ive never personally opened an electrical appliance before though I have watched some teardowns and know the basics

That’s the actual joystick assembly part – you will need to take this off to replace the rubber part anyways – but if it’s working with no drift and feels tight, no reason to replace it. But it’s super easy if you wanted to – there’s that single ribbon cable that disconnects and 2 screws, boom done.
