Assassin's Creed Unity is a DF favourite, a highly ambitious game from a technological perspective, but under-served by the tech of the PS4/Xbox One era. Last-gen enhanced consoles stabilised the experience, FPS Boost brought Xbox Series X|S to 60fps but now Ubisoft is promising the best of both worlds: 4K at 60fps for PS5/Series X, or 1080p at 60fps on Series S. But the reality is that 4K isn't 4K and 60fps is a target, not a lock. Rich looks at the patch, the state of the original launch game, analysis of the new upgrades and a quick look at the PC experience to prove that this is still a highly demanding title… with issues.

But have they fixed the multiplayer yet?
Seeing a 9070xt which is a modern GPU paired with a top tier CPU drop below 60fps at 4k native in an 11 years old game is wild. Either the game is not optimised or Assassin’s creed Unity is so CPU demanding that even modern CPU struggle with the game.
Can you put this game in rest mode yet?
Series X has a huge advantage in resolution. Too bad backwards compatibility on PS is less advanced. But still a nice improvement.
