I checked his friends list and there are several people that also have gamertags that begin with numbers. I didn’t think this was possible?

Why would it not be possible? You can type WHATEVER you want into the box. Except slurs.

    2. 15 or so years ago there was a glitch (specifically when making your Gamertag on desktop in a browser) where you could essentially bypass all restrictions. For example, spaces don’t count as a character so if someone had the Gamertag “RedRoof” you couldn’t make “Red Roof”, but during this short period the glitch was active you could. I specifically remember a guy on the forums I was using at the time making the Gamertag “AK 47” when “AK47” with no space was already taken.

I’m going to ASSUME this is when the tags in your picture were created unless there was another glitch at some point I’m not familiar with.

    3. These are probably old accounts. Previously, it was possible to create gamertags with more than 12 characters and start or end with characters like “xI” or “Ix,” but today certain character combinations are not possible, and there’s a defined character limit.
