Happened to find this when going through my storage boxes under my bed looking for some shoes. I am so happy I found this, it’s like reuniting with an old friend.
I have so many fond memories playing with this when I was in school, got me through some tough times. Still runs like the day I got it.

Finding your lost DS System is extremely common, I have no idea why I know lots of people who found their old systems under the beds either forgetting about it for a long time or losing it like in your example.

I recently found my 3DS years after I got grounded… it was hidden in my new bedroom. Glad i found it and also modded it.
