Now, let me just be completely upfront right now, I am not saying that anything that Nintendo has done or any new Mario product is completely undeserving of criticism. Hell no, they absolutely are. Heck, if you outright hate something, say you hate it, you are absolutely in your right to voice your hate for something if you feel completely dissatisifed with it. This isn't really a vent post about me being saddened over people voicing their absolutely justified criticisms towards the Mario Galaxy Movie for example because that movie absolutely has its issues. It's moreso about the fact that the feeling of it all just… sucks. I hate that Mario is basically the punching bag/laughingstock when it comes to the movie side of the internet much like how Sonic was the punching bag/laughingstock when it comes to the game side of the internet during the mid to late 2000s. I wish it didn't have to be this way. All day, every day, I get so many videos in my recommended feed not only ripping the movie to shreds (which just sucks because of how much of a constant reminder it is that the movie wasn't good and was a failure), but I've also seen videos that are mocking people who liked the movie with that "Leave the multi-billion dollar company alone" meme in the thumbnail of one of them.
It honestly makes me feel like shit for being a Mario fan to begin with. It got to the point that I literally left the main Mario and Super Mario subreddits just because I didn't want to have to see more negativity because I feel like I've already got more than enough of my fill in regards to that. Believe it or not but engaging in too much negativity on the internet in regards to something you are a huge fan of can be genuinely damaging to your confidence and faith in said thing you're a huge fan of.
And it's not like it ends there either.
It just never stops…
The constant drama, the constant negativity, in regards to everything that has happened with the Switch 2, it just feels like it will never end and it probably won't ever end and it's depressing to me because I feel like life even outside of Nintendo sucks already enough as is.
I wish there was a light at the end of this dark as hell tunnel, but it just feels like there never will be.
I'm tired, boss.

Engage with people in real life. Online isn’t real. I work at a video game store and I can tell you that I have never felt this way lmao.
Sounds like you’re pretty deep into the fandom and need to pull back a bit because you’re taking this way too personally. Also, who cares what others think about what you like? You don’t need to watch those videos that are suggested to you or even think about them after you see the thumbnail.

As someone who just saw the mario Galaxy movie. I can say they are still producing good content. You just gotta like what you like and fuck anybody who belittls you for it.
Never say never, but just enjoy what you enjoy amd don’t worry about it. Have no expectations amd you’ll get to be surprised every so often.
As a lifelong Nintendo fan, people hating on Nintendo just seems like part of the experience lol
