My boyfriend and I love gaming together. We just got the Xbox series X yesterday and are dying for more couch co-op options that we haven't already exhausted. I've scoured Microsoft store and come up with these that have peaked my interest.

    Looking for reviews, suggestions, influence, deinfluence, any advice!!

    We've played:

    All Diablos

    POE

    Elder Scrolls

    Minecraft Dungeons

    It Takes Two

    A Way Out

    Ages of Mages

    Torchlight 2 (on switch, not local coop)

    Grim Dawn

    9th Dawn Remake

    Tiny Tina's Wonderland

    Borderlands

    WoW Classic (PC)

    Smite

    (don't enjoy Lego split screen, as the way it works makes me nauseous lol)

    We mostly prefer RPGs/action/adventure

    TIA 🫶🏻🫶🏻

      Baldurs Gate 3. Just finished it with my wife who doesn’t even like playing games and she loved it.

      Split fiction, undoubtedly if you like it takes two. Also check out the Dark Picture Series Games, theyre probably my favorite co-op games.

      Split fiction. Could have won game of the year if it wasn’t for 2025 being packed to the gills with awesome games

    4. * Kill it With Fire 2
      * Powerwash Simulator 2
      * Dark Pictures Anthology
      * Doom and Doom 2
      * The Quarry

      Enjoyed all these with the family

    5. Halo MCC and fable 2/3

      I also second Baldurs gate 3 even though it’s turn based

    6. Wolfenstein Youngblood

      Strange Brigade

      Lego Voyagers

      Edit: Sorry! The first 2 are not couch co-op, overlooked that requirement..

      Detroit become human is an awesome game to play with your significant other, I must’ve played through that game with 3 different girlfriends lol

      Might be some repeats in here, as this is a copy/paste from another post I’ve made.

      – Battletoads
      – Castle Crashers Remastered
      – Cuphead
      – Halo series (5 and Infinite don’t have couch unfortunately)
      – Gears series
      – Left 4 Dead / Left 4 Dead 2
      – Moving Out / Moving Out 2
      – Overcooked: All You Can Eat!
      – Portal 2
      – Resident Evil 5
      – Split Fiction
      – Unravel Two

    9. Split Fiction. I spend most of the weekend playing to 1-3am with my nephew. Loved every minute of it!

      Cuphead for a challenge. Stardew Valley for a relaxing experience you can always come back to from time to time. Plus you guys can marry each other in that game.

    11. Gonna throw a weird one on your list.

      Outward: Definitive Edition

      This is an action role playing game with survival mechanics. The combat feels a little bit dark souls ish, you have to manage hunger, thirst, and warmth. Your character can suffer from maladies. Magic is a pain to come by. Quests have multiple outcomes and consequences. And the game handles your saving for you,  meaning you cant manually save.

      And this whole janky amazing mess can be played in Split-Screen co-op.

      Check out Absolum, its a coop beat em up rogue-like with a cool drawn fantasy art style and a fire soundtrack. It is also on Game Pass

    13. I know you didn’t mention cozy farm sims but Stardew Valley & Coral Island are cool whenever you want a break from all the action! 🥂
