Was it welcome? Absolutely, but it wasn’t necessary in my opinion, the original has aged incredibly well.
I played it on the SNES classic back in 2017 for the first time since the game never had a release in Europe before that and I loved every second of it

As much as I think a lot of SNES games hold up today, this particular art style really needs a CRT or at least a CRT filter to look good. I prefer newer graphics over the original raw on a modern high res screen.
