I don’t understand why people rate critic’s scores that much, user scores are more reliable

So excited and glad that this game is a banger. Already LOVED Returnal and looks like Saros is a geat continuation!

    3. Score doesn’t mean much if people don’t buy it. I maintain that $70 is the effing wrong price. I love Returnal, and that was wrongly priced and barely sold. Put it at $40 it will fly off the shelves. But discount it later, and everyone is busy with something else, as if you didn’t notice great games are raining down all the time from now till GTA.

I am less interested about numbers and more about the arguments behind them.

Thankfully, a TON of praise is going to the gameplay, which Housemarque excels at. Some criticize the repetition, but whether that’s just roguelike haters or people who genuinely feel Saros’ is more repetitive than its peers, is not fully clear.

Now the story is where it gets iffy, apparently… I feel that, beyond the amazing gameplay, Housemarque is also very good at creating cool, engaging worlds dripping with atmosphere (which for an arcade-y game is great, mind you) – however, the contextualization/surrounding narrative isn’t quite up to par with the world design, so it seems more reviewers are having issues with the narrative itself (especially given the fact they are placing a bigger emphasis on it this time around).

All in all, it’s set to be a very satisfying game that will keep players hooked but keep expectactions in check for the story.

I’m poor. This is the only game I will have bought full price for the last 5 years and the next 5.

Luckily I got that sweet cashapp deal and nabbed the deluxe for $40. LFG!!!!!
