This genuinely horrid. Like my guy had to drain ALL of the moneyðŸ˜ðŸ’€ bro didn't even leave any crumbs behind
I also didn't see any other devices authorized which might have been a session hijack
(PS: im not looking for support im just posting asking like how did this stuff happen without any alerts)

You had steam authentication enabled?

Did you have 2fa?
Reminder not to save any paypal info on steam.
They got me too, i lost all my steam wallet, luckily it was only 10€. But it could have been worse.
Think.. did you download any shady software lately, anything to crack software, any game trainers, cheat engine scripts anything like that?
If you are logged in to steam on a browser, then a hacker can steal your session token and use it on his pc. This bypasses loging in entirely. Had that happen to me a few years ago
happened to me once. a full $50 gone on some dota 2 stickers or something (i don’t even have the game on my library) I guess the guy listed the stickers on his account for $50 and then bought it with my money; those stickers are worth like maybe $0.06.
Yes, I have 2FA, got no login notifications, should’ve gotten a login code or something sent to my phone, but nothing happened.
Steam couldn’t do anything bc it was a community market purchase, which is what sucked the most. I got that $50 as a gift and was looking forward to picking up something on sale.
I don’t even keep Steam logged in on my browser so I doubt it was a cookie stealer? Idk I’m not super knowledgeable on the methods these criminals use, I’m only logged in on my PC app and phone.
