I activated a passkey on my account and instantly got this message. My 2FA is currently disabled. I’m guessing it’s because I activated the passkey and it automatically disabled it. The number it was sent from is also a normal number, not one that would send these types of messages. Has anyone else gotten this? It’s obviously a scam

I got the same message after activating a passkey, but it was a normal message and it was from Sony themselves.
“2-step verification is now deactivated on your Sony accounts.”
Two factor authentication is in fact disabled once you set up a passkey. You cannot have both at the same time.
Which country and what type of phone?
Yeah I would be really weirded out too
There is no call to action, no sense of urgency, no shady place to click or call,… And it ties to an action you took. All that points to an IT system at Sony having a glitch causing the messy layout over a scam.
Honestly, out of an abundance of caution, you should change your password. Shit, if I saw this, that’s the first thing I’m doing. Can never be too safe.
