Over 10 years ago, shortly after I moved out for university I got the OG steam controller. Since then, it has been almost exclusively my daily driver.
I play mostly on my desktop PC with M&K but still used it daily when watching stuff on my TV, which is connected to my PC via HDMI.
But that doesn't mean that my SC hasn't been used for countless hours of couch gaming!
Many of these hours were spent in chill couch co-ops (think It Takes Two, Cat Quest 2, etc.) with my girlfriend, but most of the time it helped me crush my friends in all kinds of local party games (Nidhogg, Rounds, UCS, Duck Game, etc).
But parties also mean danger, especially for a controller. And that's the part that really impressed me. This thing has been dropped and sat on hundreds of times, showered in beer and other liquids but STILL soldiers on with only minor issues.
Regarding those minor issues, during the last few years the right touchpad lost a lot of sensitivity, still good enough for desktop usage but sadly a bit too bad for games which require high precision. But that's mostly my fault anyway.
And that's nothing compared to my other controllers, as I have gone through quite a few first & third-party PS and XBOX style controllers at the same time.
So, all in all, the OG Steam Controller was the best controller I've ever had, and I really hope that the second version continues his legacy.
To another 10 amazing years!
