I recently found my old 3DS, and I went to see about getting it fixed about 7 years ago, and they told me it would be cheaper to just get a refurbished one instead. The thing is, I have a lot of memories on my 3DS that I don’t know if they’re on my SD card or not (I don’t believe they are). Is it worth it to try and find someone who can fix it, is it fixable (it’s been sitting in a car for five years in various weather conditions), and how much would I be looking at if it’s fixable?

If its just that the inside of the charging port is broken and not due to the charging port desoldering itself, you can use a charging dock to charge instead.
The original 3ds had a charging doc that simply touches those two contacts on the side. Cable just plugs into the dock. Get one of those. Every original 3ds came with one.
Unless it’s really pricy, I’d get it fixed, for a very simple reason: they don’t make these anymore. The number of 3DSs in the planet will only go down from now on, and any of them out there that are salvageable feel like they should be salvaged, especially considering how sought after they are currently. Now, if it’s worth it for you, personally, to pay for this repair, depends on how cheap you could get a new one (definitely not as cheap as it was 7 years ago, and I think the repair might actually cost you less at this point), but if you decide not to, I would recommend helping it find its way to someone who would, just so there’s one more 3DS in a player’s hands and one less 3DS in a landfill or something.
Like others have said, just get a charging dock!! An official, original one shouldn’t run you back more than $15-20 on ebay
