Before that he says something to himself like “If it’s her…”
My guess is that it would continue on to something like “she’ll be suitable for the fusion.”
I think he was still going to tell her about Xion and Orcal in order to send her on a journey to collect the alpha cores (fruits of knowledge) until she figures out the truth.

After replaying in NG+ I took it to mean he was going to tell her at least some of the story exposition we see towards the end of the game. However, after realising another Air squad member was alive he decided to bite his tongue and see how it plays out. I think it was just a somewhat lazy way of letting the player know that things are not all as they seem and Adam knows something the player/Eve doesn’t
By the way I like the story so don’t put too much thought into my ‘lazy’ remark
