For the people who usually uses this feature to add to favorites games this is really frustrating, I don't know about you guys but I usually add to favorites the base game, but now it seems that a LOT of times deluxe and ultimate editions of a game are getting sales and some are good ones over the base game, this itself isn't a bad thing, but it is very inconvenient that the store doesn't notify if other editions of a game you are following is getting a sale.
As you can see on these pics I quickly recollected superior editions are getting sales and not the base game, so it seems that if you want to be on sale alert you have to add all the editions a single game can have since they are treated as different items by the store in order to be informed, inflating the list of favorite games, now it looks like you are following donzens of games when in truth it's only a few of them only because of the many editions.
Thoughts?

This isn’t really a publisher thing. This is just the way the MS Store works and the PS store too btw. I do think MS could do something to alert you if any version of a game you’ve watchlisted go on sale, would be a good QoL feature.
The multiple editions of games are often pure marketing. “More shelf space” in the digital store, and with a new edition comes listing in the “new games” section which is highly coveted for traffic.
It’s also a terrible disservice to indie devs fighting for a scrap of limelight, only to get kicked off the page for all 18 obnoxious editions of Madden or NBA2k.
God damn. Cool game but…God damn.
