I think i found the possible inspiration for Saria's Song, and it is this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkeLHHpPcLg

César Guerra-Peixe was a Brazilian composer that is very influential in the concert music area. This song was made in 1979 and it has exactly the same motif as Saria's Song.

We all know that Nintendo likes to reference and use things from Brazil, so i don't think it's to far fetched. See this post from u/glennize for an example: https://www.reddit.com/r/nintendomusic/comments/448e8d/the_influence_of_brazilian_music/

Very interesting, has anyone else seen or discovered this connection yet?

Good find. Ocarina’s full of stuff like this and Koji Kondo’s quite famous for his, *ahem*, taking inspiration from other music so it’s entirely plausible. Listen to Brain Salad Surgery and you’ll hear plenty of stuff that sounds just like Ocarina.
