    1. Here’s a summary of what they talked about in here:

•No details on a launch window

      •Has native ray tracing

•Meant to capture the gritty horror/monster theme from the original games. Serves as an origin story for Marcus and Dom

•This is E-Day, so no chainsaw lancer at first (but they imply it’ll appear at some point)

•It’s a mainline game, not a spinoff like Judgement. They started pre-development in 2020 during the pandemic

•They claim they’re not done with the Gears 4/5 storyline, but it sounds like they probably shelved it to work on this instead. There’s not guarantee that they’ll pick it back up, but they also said that they’re not done with it. No clarification on whether this is a one-off or a soft reboot into a prequel series

      Edit: whoops, formatting

Everything after Gears 2 has been mediocre at best and a dull, forgettable dirge at worst. I genuinely hope this changes that trend.

    3. I bet there will a ton of story threads in this game that will be introduced and concluded in several Gears sequels. Since they kind of wrote themselves into a corner with the end of 5 and that choice at the end.

    4. Thankfully they realized gow 5 story was so putrid they have to get back I the good graces with a prequel with characters people actually like.

I do like gears 4 and 5 but I was straight up getting sick of gears I’m so glad their going back to that dark horror esque vibe of the older games. I haven’t been this hyped for gears in a long ass time

    6. I’ve gotten too old to play. I’m hoping there’s a decent story mode so I can hobble through it. It’s hard to believe I played the first one on release day, almost 20 frekn years ago.

    7. I’m glad that they’re respecting the lore of the chainsaw bayonet. It’s supposed to show up a year into the war. Judgement had the chainsaw even though that game is set 8 weeks after E-Day. I don’t know why Judgement was set so early. It could have been set later and nothing would have changed.

    8. Come as a fan of the series since day one. I remember there was a midnight release for the first game back in 2006 and hardly anyone was there. Played Gears 1-3 and loved every moment and sunk hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into multiplayer. Didn’t really enjoy any of the newer Gears after 3; but this hit me in the feels. Please don’t mess this up, MS/Coalition.
