I often see Nintendo’s various HQ’s posted, but rarely do you see anything about their factory over in Uji. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Nintendo’s headquarters in central Kyoto.

I wonder what goes on there today. It’s not massive by today’s standards, and Nintendo outsources most of its manufacturing outside Japan anyways to begin with. I would guess this particular facility is used largely for repackaging purposes, special projects, manufacturing R&D, etc. But I would love to know more.
I like to think of this building as their own “Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory” of sorts, just chock full of whacky, crazy ideas.
