This upcoming Nintendo Direct this month is generating a lot more hype than usual, so we're making this thread as a place to speculate and discuss it.
What we know
- There will be a Nintendo Direct this month.
- It will not contain any mention of Nintendo's next console.

- We don't know what games will be in the Direct.

Is there any hope for Star Fox fans?
I’m hoping there are some brand new games announced, and not only ports/remasters/remakes.
I know the next Nintendo console will be a thing, but I hope we have more new games in its final year’s than simply Princess Peach: Showtime and Endless Ocean 3.
Just give me Wind Waker or Xenoblade X port and I’ll be happy.
sounds like a pipe dream but all I really want out of this direct is wind waker and twilight princess. makes no sense they are not on switch yet
I’ll be satisfied if I get to play Metroid Prime 2, Yoshi’s Wooly World or Twilight Princess this year on Switch.

Throwing in my pie in the sky dream of a Skies of Arcadia Remaster.
It’s not likely with a new console on the way, but a new mainline Mario game would be fun. It’s been a long time since Odyssey, which I didn’t enjoy as much as everyone else, and I’m curious what direction they’re gonna take us.
I’d love for them to announce a new game in the Mario and Luigi series. I know AlphaDream went bankrupt but it would’ve been nice if Nintendo hired a bunch of their team.
I feel like there will be mention of the next console. But like “Nintendo guy in front of a white screen mentions that it’s coming and then bows” mention
is it even confirmed to be happening in the first place?
All I want is something from Star Fox. In its favor we have Liam Robertson’s claims, the metadata in Switch Sports, the trademark from a little while back, the rumors of Bandai Namco remaking a Nintendo 3D Action Game…

Part of me hopes for Kid Icarus Uprising remaster or new game. I love that game. It was sp fun and never took itself seriously.
Hoping F Zero got some notice as well with the racing Royale proved.
Man do I hope we get DK64 announced for NSO along with more Rare titles as well.
Hopefully the two Zelda remasters get ported. Other than that this is a bonus for me before new hardware next year

Then they can sell prime remastered trilogy on the switch 2
I honestly think they’ll have “one more thing” and they’ll show the shape or the shadow of the switch 2. Nothing more. No date. No games.
Temper your expectations, you won’t get let down. Seeing people wanting Zelda and Metroid port related things. If it’s a big showcase then you’ll be happy if you don’t get too hyped up.
There’s gonna be some new thing to sell us on Switch Online. My guess is Dreamcast games?
If they’re not gonna announce Prime 4 now, it’s coming soon for the new platform. Instead, Prime 2 and 3 are announced for Switch.
New Yoshi game, but it’s 3D. Kinda like a Yoshi version of Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Not expecting too much. All the really big games like the next 3D Mario or Mario Kart will get held back for the next console.
Hopefully it’s not all remasters and remakes for this final year though. 1 decent looking new game from Nintendo for this fall is all I want. Then I guess pad the calendar with some remasters if they don’t have anything else left for Switch.
Switch 2 is gonna be a souped up switch. That’s completely compatible with previous system games. Just an upgrade really. Maybe they’ll move into a PC store and just release the same handheld/docked console for the next few generations. Just like steam, they could add a few new peripherals to help with mixing it up a bit. I would love if they release a vr perephrial and have a dedicated team to release games for it
I was kind of hoping for a Samus Returns Switch port, and since they dumped the original on the 3DS at the end of its life maybe they’d do the same for the Switch
Mostly expecting some Ports and Remasters at this point. The Switch has reached the end of it’s life cycle but that sort of stuff would at least keep us afloat till next year
Not expecting anything major. There is a lot I’d /hope/ to see, though, such as: /anything/ about Metroid Prime 4, Zelda ports (Twilight Princess and Wind Waker), NSO updates (N64, NES, SNES, GBA). I’m not expecting any of those, but it’d be neat to see.
As for what we do know about the Direct, though: we also know it’ll be about upcoming Switch games through the end of this year. I’m expecting “roughly 40 minutes mainly focused on Switch games coming out through the end of 2024” (and absolutely no mention of the next console).
I actually love the weird quirky games we get towards the end of a console. I’d love a Wii party/party u sequel.

I hope they do another retelling of the first story in the Star Fox series, that’s a period they so rarely go back to.
