i liked xmen vs street fighter on the ps1, unfortunately, arcade originals are just unfun hard

    2. Max D00d is losing his shit lol.

This has to mean the two companies are talking again, right?

If not for prime 4, this easily would have won the direct for me. I got so hype. We are finally back.

      I dont believe it…..

X-Men vs Street Fighter is finally freed from its prison!

      Oh happy day.

    5. The only place I got to play Marvel Super Heroes was back at the arcade section in the old ice rink back in the late 90s. I am so hyped for this.

    6. MAHVEL BAYBEEEEEEEEEEE

So glad that a Switch port actually happened, MvC2 looks fun as hell and I’m excited to try it

    7. Thanks for posting the Japanese link. Was afraid I might learn something about the game.

You see advertising done right!! with the success of X Men 97 it is the right move to focus on them.

    9. I hope this version enables PPP and KKK assigned buttons.

The PS2 version had this, and it was way more enjoyable to play, especially with a control pad.

I had a friend that had Marvel Super Heroes for the PS1 that we used to play a bunch back in the day. This is nostalgia overload and I need it

    11. This is very cool, as someone who’s really only played Ultimate 3 a lot I’m excited to play the older games outside of an arcade, and I’m going to buy it, but PLEASE MAKE A NEW ONE! WITH A GOOD ROSTER THIS TIME! PLEASE! PLEASE!

    12. This is by far the biggest news of the entire direct.

MvC2 was rereleased on XBLA and PSN, but were taken off the store page shortly after Capcom lost the licensing rights to Marvel. The game has not been rereleased since, and the only legal ways to play it were either on the arcade itself or on Dreamcast. We’ve been fighting for another rerelease for over 10 years, and we finally have it on Switch PS4 and PC.

The sky’s the limit now. We might get a proper MvC with X-Men at this point. This is an insanely big deal.

Is the MVC2 version arcade based where you had to have playtime and such in the arcade to unveil new characters unlike the Dreamcast version you earned points to unlock the characters.

I wonder why Microsoft dropped the ball with Capcom for this game? It’s the weirdest thing that this isn’t planned for Xbox in any form?

I want to be excited, but… ugh… that’s like the 3rd time Capcom screwed a collection **by omitting PS3/360 games**.

      * Devil May Cry? The 4th game wasn’t there.
      * Street Fighter? Ultra SF4 was missing.
      * This one? Where’s Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3?!?

Are 3rd-party devs this lost and incompetent at porting PS3 and X360 games to later consoles or something?

I honestly never imagined that mvc2 would ever be released again.

I even bought the arcade1up for it.

This was the biggest thing in the announcement for me because it was so out of left field.

Best part is now you can play anybody anywhere!

    17. Loved playing MvC2 at Cici’s pizza as a kid. Good memories. I don’t think I’ve played any of the others though, were they as good?

Also was that Punisher a popular arcade machine when it was new? I had t heard of that on and was surprised how much time they spent featuring it.

Played a lot of X-Men vs Street Fighter way back when on a friend’s PS1. Fingers crossed that this gets a physical release. I don’t have a Switch, but I’ve been amassing titles in hopes of playing them on a Switch 2 that’s hopefully backwards compatible. Wouldn’t know what to do if this is digital only. Still, a great announcement.
