Hey All. Hope you're having a good weekend so far.
For some context, I had recently purchased the game Morsels on the Switch Lite and attempted to run it with all of the filters and rumble features deactivated. However, even with those lower settings, the game crashed within half an hour of gameplay. I'm attempting to negotiate with Nintendo Tech Support to try and return the game, but was curious if any other titles that I have my eye on may share this problem.
I know that Switch isn't the strongest hardware compared to other consoles, but have always had the confidence that the games Nintendo allows on their shop would be optimized to run on the console properly. Now I can't be too sure, sadly, and was hoping to gauge the room to see what other games I have my eye on are known to crash on the system. Also curious if there are other Switch games I hadn't though about that are poorly optimized and should be avoided. Any input on the situation would be a huge help. Thanks.

You’re better off just googling each name and typing “*x game name* performance” or “*x game name* crashing”.
Disco struggles a bit. I still beat the game on Switch tho. Did crash on me a handful of times and has some fps slowdowns I feel
Cadence of Hyrule runs great.
Disco elysium does unfortunately, especially sad considering it’s an absolute must play
Your mistake was assuming. Check YouTube videos for the games you are interested in
Undertale and Deltarune will play well on hardware as strong as a toaster, they’re fine on the switch.
I played through Katana zero, animal well, 13 sentinels and chicory on my very old 2017 switch without issues. Stardew valley runs great on my friend’s switch lite
Raincode looked horrible on handheld, would not recommend.
Tunic is phenomenal, beat it twice on switch with no issues
Ball X Pit has crashed 6 or 7 times throughout my playthrough. Still enjoying it however.
Edit: should mention I am playing on the Switch Lite.
nintendo is a shitty console, probably running windows 11 underneath. But it’s better than console (stuck to the couch) or pc (Stuck to your chair) and doesn’t burn testicles like a laptop or steam deck.
1. I own about 250 digital games on my Switch OLED and none of them crashed.
2. I cannot identify most of the games on your picture. Maybe make text list or attach one or more pictures with higher resolution.
Disco Elysium definitely has issues crashing, had about 4-5 during my play through including 1 during the final major conversation that lost me around 2 hours of progress.
UFO 50 also had some minor performance/optimization issues on a few games. Not any crashes that I’ve seen though.
I’ve played over half of your list and those are the only major callouts I have. Might have some mild graphics or performance issues but nothing out of the ordinary, especially for switch
I don’t have an answer, but wanted to say you have good taste. I am looking up the stuff on this list I haven’t seen before and wishlisting it because the stuff I have seen before is generally really good.
Hey this looks a lot like my wishlist/collection. Ghost Trick has a demo if you want to test it out. Outside of Disco having some bugs I haven’t noticed anything in those games.
I havent played even close to all of these ofc but I played some. Only Bioshock had issues for me. Specifically 1 and 2 Remaster. Its not Switch only, all platforms have this problem. The game will sometimes randomly crash while you are saving and delete your savefile. Had it happen once on my Switch and on PC too. But I played the whole trilogy multiple times, so it might not happen if you only play them once and get lucky.
Eastward is a stellar game. Played on switch 1, flawless.
Stardew valley has not crashed once is the 500 hours I have played it on switch
I’ve never had a switch game crash. PS5 on the other hand…
No, and
BUY YOKUS ISLAND EXPRESS RIGHT NOW. SUCH A GOOD GAME!
Okami crashed weirdly often, but it always was after I saved so thankfully it shouldn’t affect your playthrough too much
