It just broke off someday, and honestly considering how expensive New 3ds xls are, I'm really scared to open it up and replace it. There are two tiny ribbon cables, and I hate ribbon cables, I'm scared I just rip them off accidentally. I mean its a bit uncomfortable, but it works fine and I'm happy with that.

I used an old 3DSXL like this for a while until a bought a new 3DS recently
I never ever bugs you too much. You could look up to have somebody else do it for you. There are repair shops or some retro game shops that can do it for you for a fee.
mine broke off my o3dsxl a couple years ago and i played most of alpha sapphire with it broken like yours lol.
i couldn’t stand to see it in that shape anymore though so i replaced it
