I need an explanation because I know its not possible to get any games from the eshop. my 3ds isn't modded, I already owned a physical copy of mario kart 7 for years and never bought a digital copy of the game, and battle giants dragons is inside the 3ds slot already. So how is this possible? Because on the shop it showed mario kart 7 download and I thought maybe it was for ab update, but when it was done downloading it was digitally downloaded, and when I went in it, it was the full game but none of my data is in it. Its like a completely new game. The second image is supposed to be proof that I already owned a physical copy. The physical copy has all of my data, but the digital one doesn't. I'm just completely lost and aren't sure if its possible to download the physical copy of a game as a digital one. Has anyone had a run in with this for mario kart 7 or any other games?

      1. You can still download purchased games from the eShop

      2. In your case, most likely the 3DS you have is from the Mario Kart 7 bundle like the one I have. It comes free pre installed on the console, even if you haven’t logged in a Nintendo Network ID. And even if the game was previously uninstalled, it can still be redownloaded from the eShop

    2. Games which came pre-installed in bundles sold can and will be re-installed on one’s 3ds/2ds for good. As long as you did not attach it to your NNID it’s yours.

    3. If you bought this 3DS used, Mario Kart 7 was probably the originally pre-installed game with this console.

    4. Update: so from the comments I found out that this 3ds XL I own was from a bundle. Crazy, cus for about a year or 2 I never knew it was from one. Thank you 😀

    5. I have a light blue 2DS bundled with the digital Pokemon Sun on a default 4GB sd card and the game can always be redownloaded from Eshop.
