I’ve had my childhood 3DS XL for 11 years and for as long as I could remember, the top part of the hinge had always been torn off from the top. About a week ago the part that covers the light came off and just now when I tried to close it, the entire right side came off. Is there a way I could put it back on safely or maybe there is something I would have to replace? It still turns on like normal but I don’t want to do anything else that might break it more.

Needs a housing replacement. It’s a medium difficulty repair, if you have tinkering experience it’s doable, but I still suggest going to a repair shop.
