    1. > We worked with Nintendo to ensure the content within the title met the criteria to release on their platforms

      Thanks Nintendo

    2. I kind of dont mind it being censored but would be good to have it optional for the people who don’t want it censored

    3. Seriously? Usually PlayStation is the platform that ends up with a censored version.

Also, Cyberpunk 2077 is uncensored on Switch, so why is it different with this game?

What’s odd is games have been left uncensored in the past on switch but censored on ps5. Guess Nintendo isn’t happy with this one.

      Can I refund the preorder?

EDIT: I talked to a Nintendo support person who had mercy on me and I’m getting it refunded.

But… The option was there in the original release! Why is it gonna be like this? There’s already ratings and plenty of information online regarding the mature content of the game. Irresponsible guardians shouldn’t be something for the devs to take care of.

    7. Looks like I’m not playing it then.

If Nintendo can allow all those trash hentai games AND have Cyberpunk on its console, they can allow this uncensored.

I hope people who preorder it got their refund if they are bothered by it. Isn’t this an M-rated game? It is incredibly deceptive if it is.

Damn it and I had already bought it, thats not fair. They deliberately only first said it on launch day, that is so scummy for people who had preordered. Im so mad, I would’ve gotten it elsewhere

    10. Need more information: is it censored in all regions or just North America? I’m specifically asking because the Deluxe Edition art was censored on the NA eShop but not elsewhere

    11. Really annoyed that they chose not to mention this until release day. I pre-ordered and now it’s too late to cancel and get it on a different platform.

    12. Sometimes this is only for the digital version and a later physical version is uncensored. Especially if the physical version only releases in South East Asia ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    13. Well, that’s solidified my decision to buy in Steam then. Stupid Nintendo. Let adults decide what they want to view or not view.

This can’t be a Nintendo thing, right? Games like Cyberpunk and Witcher contain nudity and aren’t censored on the Switch. Not sure why this game would be singled out unless there’s more to it.

    15. Crazy how there’s sex scenes and complete nudity in Cyberpunk but this has to be censored 🥴

    16. >The core narrative and gameplay experience remains identical

No, it doesn’t. The strong themes, language and scenes were designed and made for a purpose. Its not just shock value or raunchy bits, its about taking the player on a journey with the characters and their personalities.

Censoring takes away from those boundaries that players get to explore and feel in the uncensored version. That alone segregates the overall player base and makes them feel like they’re missing out, even if whats being sensored is something as small as an explicit scene. This was a priority that Larian tackled with Sony when bringing BG3 to PS5 from PC. They did not want a split experience. They also brought that same mentality in console modding which is why both PS5 and Xbox have the same content available regardless of external asset usage.

Even if anyone disregards everything above, that still leaves what others are saying. Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher are on the switch unsensored

    17. This is incredibly stupid

They had options in the game

Just make the options pop up before starting, or a warning would suffice

    18. Yeah there can’t be anything here but pure desire for wider Switch reach. Mature games exist on the platform already.

    19. Nintendo policies have nothing to do with this, given Cyberpunk is on Switch 2 with full nudity and scenes. This feels like a developer trying to get out of doing work.

    20. This seems strange on a platform where like 10% of the Web store’s content explicitly calls itself hentai. What happened here?

    21. First time I’ve asked for a refund before even booting the game. Thankfully, they granted it.
