For me at least anything directly behind monitors is visually distracting when I’m using my pc. I think what you’re seeing could be fixed by having a screensaver, it’s less “blank space around monitors” that’s the problem and more “giant empty black box” of the monitors themselves that contrasts with everything else.
Things I would change:
1: Remove the LED from the front of the desk. Run it along the back only, so its hidden.
2:Paint the pegboard black (or replace with the black one from ikea)
3: remove the foam from the corner.
Thats just me though, looks cozy
