Super Mario Bros™ Wonder – Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park
Like that’s just excessive

Same, tbh

It definitely doesn’t appeal to someone who exclusively plays alone.

I appreciate adding characters and making the game more accessible for newcomers. A general update with a Switch 2 graphical upgrade is fine enough.
What I really wanted is a sequel.

Yeah imma skip. Base game. Amazing. This weird ass coop stuff… nah

I don’t think unsure is the correct word. It’s definitely not what we want as expension.

Itd be cool if I was still in middle or high school and I had friends/siblings to play with

I think this expansion is very clearly made for the kids. As much as I loved wonder, I saw this and knew what the strategists at Nintendo were thinking.

Same thing I thought when they added the balloon DLC to Odyssey….
They simply added more coop and multiplayer stuff to Mario Wonder, what is the big deal here?
The base game is close to perfect, if a little easy, but so is virtually every Mario game.

I just feel like this game already really caters to the casual/multuplayer audience. A Luigi U style level pack of extra challenging levels would have made for a much more well rounded experience.

Definitely not. 2-3 more regular old worlds would have done it.

It’s just disappointing that the visual upgrade is locked behind the expansion
Rarewear_fan on
It’s made for kids and families, which are prevalent in the Nintendo sale-space overall, but not on Reddit/Twitter which is a minority.

Nothing in the presentation really sparked me to buy it, SMB:Wonder was a fantastic standalone game.

I’ll still get it when I eventually get a switch 2. Challenge courses, koopalings, Rosalina, and the vague hope I might have a crew to play the multiplayer stuff with eventually is enough for me. But I won’t have a Switch 2 until at least Christmas, and this certainly won’t be my first priority.

paying for a visual upgrade feels wrong. Easy skip

I think the price is pretty steep for what’s on offer. I can’t imagine I’ll have 4 friends who also buy the dlc to get the most out of it. I’ll probably pass on this
TheRigXD on
I’d prefer if it was a level pack + Rosalina instead of multiplayer modes you’ll touch once and then never again

It doesn’t matter what’s in it. If you tie the visual upgrade behind paid dlc content, it’s not what I wanted.

I wasn’t amazed by the base game (even if the art style is cute) and I’m a solo player, I’ll skip this DLC

It’s his job to be sure. Why write an article if you dont know what your opinion is?

Personally, I wanted a New Game+ mode.

Nintendo just has a really bad track record with dlc in general.

A lot of these switch 2 upgrades feel a bit like wasted dev time, there arent many that seem worth the price.
They would likely have been better off just offering a really cheap upgrade like Fantasy Life i did (£2 I think?) and just giving a performance boost for fps and resolution.
BOTW and TOTK upgrades are a bit more expensive than they should be but including them with NSO is okay
DivineBladeOfSilver on
I have no issue with this in itself but it feels too late. We moved on. At launch it would’ve been cool but its not cool enough to drag me back or spend alone
