    VRAM usage often exceeds available VRAM (especially in MSFS 2024), but how accurate is Steam's in-game overlay? Even though it says 17.3 GB used out of 16 GB, performance is not affected, and frame rate and frame time keeps being smooth. Should it not crash to desktop at this point? The highest I've been is 20 GB VRAM used, out of 16 GB, and performance was just fine, so consider myself very confused.

    Playing on Linux (Fedora).

      so two things, when it exceeds your GPU VRAM it will typically leverage shared GPU memory hence why you see it going above what your GPU offers. this prevents a crash, and shifts the additional work to your RAM.

      second, it is more accurate than something like windows task manager
