I for one am shocked that an 8 year old game on inferior hardware looks worse.

The textures and lighting definitely stick out. The minute-to-minute gameplay graphics aren’t very different, but if you pay attention to the textures, characters, lighting, etc. you notice a big difference.
Can’t wait to play this weekend!

Graphics do not factor into my decision making when buying Nintendo games. Nintendo will usually have good aesthetics, fitting to the hardware available.
However in most cases, I am going to be more interested in framerate.

I got Fever early and my only real complaint graphically is I wish the game had more dynamic lighting effects. During tennis matches it all looks fine, but during the adventure mode or in game cutscenes everyone has very flat lighting and it looks bad.

I wonder what the words “level of detail” mean to the channel creator?

I am on my knees, BEGGING Camelot to please make unique animations for once. These games are so fucking lazy man.

Mario Tennis Fever looks like a worse version of Mario Tennis Aces and Nintendo should’ve called Mario Tennis Fever Mario Tennis Fever Dream because this game literally is a fever dream and nobody asked for a new Mario Tennis game and in my opinion Nintendo should’ve made a new Mario Basketball game because we didn’t need another Mario Tennis game if Nintendo literally just made Mario Tennis Aces

other than some textures, so similar you can’t even tell the difference. Feels lazy.

I’m kind of disappointed they’re not really using the hardware at all for these new games they just feel like higher resolution smoother better quality texture switch one games and that’s kind of it it’s pretty disappointing visually so far.
We kind of do deserve a sort of graphical showcase they’ve had one by this point for every other system they’ve released a game that looks way better than the ones on the last system.
Think Nintendo Land (looks way better visually than any Wii game, with it’s baked lighting and higher resolution textures and high poly models), Mario Odessey (looked a world apart from 3d world and felt way bigger than any Mario game before), etc. we haven’t had a game so far we can look at and say “there’s no way that would have ran on switch it looks way better” because not only are they not that great looking compared to well the level of detail (not the realism think Astro Bot or Ratchet and Clank) of even PS4 games let alone PS5 ones (it should be a lower resolution lower level of detail PS5 pretty much).

This looks like an overpriced Switch 2 version of Aces where it should be a $15 CAD upgrade instead of a “new” $100 CAD game…🤷♂️

And when you beat adventure mode, you cant hop back in and walk around the academy area. I assumed i could jump back in so I didnt explore everywhere and now all I can do is play the training mini games. And the story doesnt even talk about >! Wario and waluigi still being babies. Not even a joke about them being stuck as babies.!< I was very disappointed in that.
The gameplay is fun, and I am unlocking the characters as thankfully it shows you how to unlock all characters and the color variants for those that have them. But I can see me not playing it for a long period of time once I unlock everything since online matches don’t appeal to me. So yea not truly worth it in my opinion as it has less replayable content than some previous mario sports titles.

Is it just me or does the lighting actually look better in Aces? It looks like it has more depth to it. That said, everything else about Fever looks better. Which I would expect since this is a Switch 2 game, and the Switch 2 is like PS4 Pro level of quality versus the Switch which would be generously classified as about on level with a PS3.

I feel like Mario Tennis got absolutely ruined when they introduced power shots which all but guaranteed you winning the point when you used one

When Mario landed in the Fever animation, did I hear the Mario 64 footstep sfx?

wow, they really used the exact same animation for Yoshi’s entrance at 2:11. cmon man, they could have changed it up even a little bit.
