To sum it up, I have an old 3DS that I took in to have the digitizer replaced because the original one was badly scratched. I think the replacement they put in is made of glass, while the original is plastic. Now I have a New 3DS XL that arrived in December, and it's actually in great condition and doesn't have any digitizer issues or anything like that. But comparing both consoles, I noticed that the digitizer on the old 3DS looks less blurry than on the New 3DS. So I wanted to ask if it's worth replacing my original plastic digitizer with a glass one. I'm asking because I've seen in other posts and in stores that generic digitizers are usually smaller or have problems recognizing the stylus. I'm planning to buy one sold by Raretro Consoles on eBay, but I'm a little worried that I might encounter these problems.

Unless you actually mean the lcd its probably a different type of plastic, its not glass. The 3DS uses a resistive touchscreen, which only works because the top layer of the digitiser is a flexible plastic. If it didnt flex, like glass, it wouldnt be able to detect input.
