People always talked about the game being built around the PS3 as a reason why MGS4 was “impossible” to bring to other consoles but I’d argue the bigger deal is the fact that MGS4 is littered with product placement. Otacon has a Macbook, there’s a in-game mechanic where you use an iPod to switch out the background music, there’s ads for stuff like Doritos and Mountain Dew everywhere, Uniqlo had a big tie-in for stuff like in-game shirts. *Peace Walker* also has ads for stuff like AXE body spray and Famitsu magazine. I seriously wonder what they’re doing to navigate around all that. Will they even bring back stuff like the Monster Hunter missions in PW or the Assassin’s Creed collab in MGS4? Not to mention the multiple direct references to the PS3 and Blu-rays in dialogue
