Hello! I recently purchased a New 2DS XL, got all the cfw onto it and installed everything I wanted and what not, went to work with it in my pocket and pulled it out to play a bit and nothing would turn on…

    weird..

Could the cfw have been borked somehow? This wasn't the first time I modded a DS system, let alone any other console.

So what could be going on?

I started looking around for any answers… It seemed like I had encountered a specific brick that had been well documented, so fixing it shouldn't be a problem.

    Until nothing worked…

I worked my way through the entire list of fixes.. and nothing..

Seemingly out of options, I took to the game stores near me, seeing if any offered repairs… they did not.

Finally I took it to a local repair store that also repaired game consoles, they had pictures of an original Game Boy and a Nintendo Switch so they definitely could help me out.

They took it back to have a look at it and I paced around for about 5 minutes, wondering what could possibly be wrong..

The guy came back out to tell me it was just a cracked LCD…

Shit, how did I not notice that? I must've cracked it leaning against a counter or something..

They ended up asking for 150$ to repair the screen, which kinda sucked considering I paid 150$ for the thing.

I know Nintendo still offers repairs (for some reason) but I've heard many stories of them just not repairing them because of the cfw on the system..

Another option would just be repairing it myself, however I've heard it is a very technical process and could just as easily ruin it and I have never done a repair that in depth before and frankly I don't have the tools or space for something like that.

All of this to say, does anybody know a business or somewhere I can send this thing to get fixed that wouldn't be that expensive or some sort of alternative or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    1. You can’t return it where you got it from? That’s what I would do, doesn’t sound like you did anything bad to it

But if it was the top screen and you can’t send it back, I could do it for $90. I’m @PinksTechLife on Instagram, you can check out my recent work there. I do these kind of repairs all the time
