It’s weird to have this rumor right after they answered questions on it in an investor briefing. It might make more sense to expect an NSO price hike.

Wait it doesn’t say anything about Nintendo recently dismissing the issue in the article. It just says they declined any comment at all on the rumor.

Didn’t Nintendo specifically say while they are striving to keep the price low because they know the first years are crucial in building the install base for Switch 2 they didn’t rule out a price hike may the market conditions force their hand?

Thanks ai bubble for the memory price hikes.

It’s already seen as expensive for the hardware and now they are going to raise prices.

They will hold off as long as possible, but the way ram, storage, and GPU prices are going they won’t have a choice.

I think people want that price increase so bad, it’s all they talk about, and it’s all rumors.
It’s like they’re asking for it.

Why aren’t there rumours like: Switch 2 is getting more games, we promise.

Clickbait.
PC Guide’s citation for the rumor is “a report from Bloomberg” which in turn cites “people familiar with its [Nintendo’s] plans.” What people? Analysts? Partners? Somebody’s uncle who claims to work at Nintendo?
The Bloomberg article only claims that, “Nintendo is also *contemplating* raising the price of that device in 2026” but somehow PC Guide decided to run with “Switch 2 *is* getting a price hike this year.”
