I got this 3DS Xl used just over a year ago and it was around that time that I noticed that the thumbstick was cracked. I'm pretty sure I didn't do this, but for some reason I didn't try to return it. So I was just wondering if there's any way to fix it

Yes. Replace the circle pad.
It’s like 5 screws to replace the circle pad on this thing. It’s super easy. Just grab one online and replace it.
