This computers served me well for over a decade. Now it can’t run WoW, ESO or Eve. It keeps launching them as Background processes. Should I do a clean wipe and start fresh or would I be better off spending $100-150 for a low end gaming laptop with more ram and possibly better processor?

overheating may be the cause, I’d check all the thermopastes inside the laptop and change them if needed
clean wipe is also good, as long as you have your files stored
I don’t know where you think you’re going to get a laptop better than this for $100. Do a clean wipe and start fresh, or bite the bullet for a real upgrade.
