Help identifying issue with 3ds

I have this new 3ds xl thats not my main one, but I got it for cheap since it didint turn on. When I opened it up looks like the battery melted the plastic? There were not signs of liquid damage as far as I could see, though the battery connect appears to be broken. With my main 3ds I tried removing the battery then plugging it in and the orange lights still came on, however on the non working one plugging it in yields no light battery or not, I also tried the charger that uses the two gold pins to check if the port was the issue no luck there. Any help or suggestions, or where I could send it for repairs would be appreciated thanks.
