In case you’re not aware: In late 2016, Nintendo made the NES Classic Edition, it was basically a mini NES that had a bunch of games built in. It was such a smart idea, but there was one slight problem. That being about the controller, because it had an extremely short cable! That thing was 3 feet long and that’s it! Was this designed by Jigsaw? I had to get a third party option that had a longer cable, it‘s a blue one with otherwise the same design as an actual NES controller, and I still have it to this day. Thankfully, the SNES Classic Edition had controllers with way longer cords, that was a much needed improvement! And everyone thought the Joy-Cons are impractical, but those at least are wireless.

I think they meant for people to play it on monitors and not TV.
The store I bought mine from threw in a pair of controller extension cords for free lol
Yeah, they were way too short. even the SNES was too short. So I bought an extension cable for it myself, shouldn’t have to resort to that. Not sure what they were thinking, maybe because in Japan you usually sat on the floor with your famicom very close to you, or it was on the desk next to your monitor, whereas here, we tend to sit in our chairs and couches or beds far from the TV.
The controller was a reused design from the same controller offered as a reward at club Nintendo. The wire is so short because it was designed to be plugged on a Wii Remote and be used on Wii and Wii U’s Virtual Console.
It still sucks, but there’s a reason for that cable lenght.
