A long, long time ago, my brother smacked my 3ds out of my hand and onto the ground. A small black line appeared, but over the years, it has been spreading more and more to the point where I can't really play games on this anymore. What would I have to replace or do to fix this? Thanks!

The top LCD screen needs to be replaced and that requires a full disassembly.
It’s not a job for the faint if heart.
Watch a video on youtube to get the idea and think if it’s something you want to try yourself.
Top screen replacements are available for that model, so it is doable.
I really dislike removing the hinges, always gives me a hard time.
On the plus side, it looks like its a midnight purple and it is highly desireable on this side of the pond.
