Since you have new software, I assume it’s hacked (or will be), so you can enter the Luma menu (L + D-pad down + select) and look for the display options. I can’t show you exactly, my 2DS XL is currently being repaired, but if that doesn’t solve your problem, then changing the screen might be a good idea.
