My 2DS won’t turn on

I left it alone for about 8/12 months and now as soon as I put it on charge it lights up for a few seconds and then goes off, I tried putting a spacer between the body and the battery and the light was on for longer, and then went off (it only gives the orange charging light, it doesn't give the slightest sign of turning on)
