Is this a good protective case for the “New” Nintendo 3ds base model?
I just bought a Japanese New Nintendo 3ds but it’s the base model, and apparently Nintendo didn’t make any cases in its lifespan. So I was wondering if this was a good case? If anyone already has it.
If it’s plastic it’s okay. It’s about the best you can hope for unless you want to get a silicone case for it. I opt for the silicone ones myself because they don’t scratch as easily, they don’t have the “slick” acrylic plastic feel, and I think they offer slightly better drop protection. There’s also “TPU” plastic cases on eBay. I’d check those out too. I’m just not personally a big fan of acrylic cases.

If you want the real deal, search for the Hori protective case on eBay. It’s the only officially licensed clear protective case for the NN3DS (that I’m aware of).
Edit: I own both by the way. The Amazon case yellowed rather quickly while the Hori case has yet to show any yellowing and I’ve used it for twice as long.

Its ok. For similar price you can get the one with a hinge. I prefer those since eventually the lids get floppy but that hinge helps it be sturdy.
You can even find these on sale on AliExpress for $5 free shipping once in a while. But shipping takes forever.
