Started recently getting back into the Nintendo stuff and found this old n3dsxl from a family member. There are a few issues with it due to its treatment and how long since it’s been used. It’s a little dirty everywhere. The stylus is missing. The battery is slightly puffy. The top screen won’t show a display (there was corrosion on the ribbon cable and connector that I cleaned but I don’t think it’s fixable). The touch screen doesn’t work (digitizer is likely busted). So I’m not sure if it’s worth fixing, I wouldn’t want to spend money on parts to repair it if it still wouldn’t work. I also wouldn’t even know where to get reliable parts and for how much. It probably isn’t worth much broken so there’d be no point in selling it. The only thing I think I can do right now is to keep it as a collectible or trash it.

Looks very fixable, think you just need a new top screen. The top screen port looks to be in good condition
definitely don’t trash it – it can be used for parts to repair other consoles!
Digitizer 5-6$ , top screen 50-60$, battery replacement 10-15$, aftermarket stylus 2-3$ / original stylus 10-15$.
Even if you did sell it for parts, its still worth quite a bit. Even better if you fix it yourself, the only tricky purchase from the ones mentioned above is the top screen, it needs a bit of research to make sure you get a properly working one. Besides that its just cleaning/replacing and you will have a brand new console, assuming you can take it apart and do the work needed of course. Either you fix it or not, its not trash by no means. You just get to choose if you will do the job or sell it for parts to someone else that will do the same job and profit from it.
